TUNE UP

I am starting to get ready for winter season riding and thanks to all my WORS peeps I decided to keep the old MTB which turns out to be a great idea. Having a winter bike means I don't have to worry too much about beating it up or taking too many spills. I headed down to Ben's tonight so Captain could put on my new SRAM cassette that I won at the Cheq Fat Tire race. I was surprised to see I also have a new set of tires on so I am good to go. The frame on this bike is just a tad smaller which helps with climbing but I am sure it will be a huge difference from the epic. The motivation is back and I am excited for the next big race at Iceman on November 10th.
Nothing like a new clean shiny cassette.

Vince bought the building across the street for a new addition to his Bike Store and it is in the works of a major remodel. I thought we had projects but this looks like a doozy. Once it is all together I am sure it will be pretty slick.

I love getting new parts. Automatically I just feel like I'm going to go fast because everything is going to work!

Your "winter" bike look better than most "summer" bikes.

Lucky!

I never thought I would need two MTB's but when one breaks down and your in the middle of race season it can cause major anxiety.

major anxiety is right! having two bikes is a huge anxiety reducer. my race bike was out of commission for a lot of races this year. more than ever in the past. and there were even a few moments when I thought the back-up might not be ready for race day....

BTW, congrats on taking the plunge and doing the expert race at Shevegas!

I once had a nightmare about only having 2 bikes.
