What happened to good service?

TGIF! Our lifestyle is busy enough and Ty and I enjoy a nice dinner out occasionally. We usually opt on race weekends for a little quaint Italian restaurant in Bayview called Tunuta's Italian Restaurant which has excellent service and great authentic Italian dishes but instead we headed for Bucca's on the East Side since it was close.

We Checked in and the hostess said it would be a 45 minute wait. We thought, OK, we can get drinks and an appetizer at the bar, no problem. One glass of wine, a beer to wash down the garlic bread and we still have no seat yet for dinner. Ty proceeds to ask the hostess if our table is available and it is now an hour into our wait. We were told in a few minutes. I notice that a table of 8 or so was sitting near by and waiting for drinks for at least 15 minutes and I told TY we should leave and go somewhere else. Now after an hour or so we get seated and are greeted by our nice waitress to get our drink order. The drinks came on time and we ordered our dinner with salads before hand. We were served a basket of very dry bread and no olive oil. We were hungry and started to nibble on the bread and when the waitress came by to take our order, Ty asked for some olive oil with the bread and the waitress said to him , "I will see if I can get some" RED FLAG # 2. I was ready to bolt!

Ten minutes later we get olive oil for our ten day old bread and devoured it within seconds after making our concoction of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and Parmesan dip. Waiting... Waiting... still no dinner. We see the table next to us in the same predicament and they finally get their food served by the manager. The huge plate of pasta was laid before them and the manager left. They had no plates to dish the pasta into so they started to all eat off the one plate! WTF!

Finally I told Ty let's go, I am already full on the bread and wine and it looks like it will be awhile for our food. Sure enough, Ty tells the waitress we are leaving and to cancel the order and she realizes she never wrote up our order for dinner or submitted it.

BUCCA'S OFF THE LIST FOREVER

Never again. It is so simple to put people out of business for such simple things as customer service and promptness.
