I've got the fever

Funny thing happened yesterday. After searching all day for for someone to lend me thier 29er, I ran into Cup Cake later in the day on the Tosa Trails. Guess what, he had the the perfect sized Gary Fisher 29er. It was like the angel from heaven appeared. So I took the opportunity to ask him if I could take it for a spin. All equipped with the comforts of home, TIME pedals, and nice bar handles to rest my weary hands on. I took it out for a spin and was impressed with the stiffness with each pedal stroke. I really like the fact that it can just crush about anything and corner like a dream. Top it off, the bike was a perfect fit. Thanks again Rick!

Once you go 29, you'll never go back!

29ers are fun, but I'm guessing the stiffness you felt was because it was a hardtail. Still, 29ers can crush anything and do corner awesome. Not to mention make all those log crossings seem like twigs.

I still would like to test it out on big climbs, steep climbs and steep descents before I am sold. It sure feels good when pedaling.

I'm noticeably slower on climbs. Not to mention like two hears lower. But steep climbs it's awesome. There's this one short steep climb on the trails by my house with a small log at the top. Real small log. But the climb is kinda steep and little litte roots, I have a real hard time on my 26er, but the 29er I go right over.
