The finishing touches to that never ending project

After months of tedious labor, Ty a.k.a. DIY King! is putting together the final details of the never ending bathroom renovation. This started about 6 years ago with tearing off the ugly marble wall paper the previous owners had hanging. When we moved in we were told that the bathroom was recently remodeled but wait a minute... they forgot to consult with a designer. I think they were trying to match the wall paper with the floor and then decided to re-do the bathroom tile in this lovely south west look. For some reason, 1930's retro tile does not go with south west. To top it off my dear DIY husband said the tile is in perfect condition and we are not tearing it down, there was nothing wrong with it. So I was stuck with determining how to make this all come together. At first we tried a butter cream paint but that made the lovely bathroom tile look brown, so that was axed. I decided to go for white. The best thing is the shower curtain will cover up the ugly tile on the walls and I can then play with the color from the floor. I did not want to go with green since my kitchen is silver sage and the up stairs foyer is in two tones of green. I am stuck on ideas for accents since I am limited with the colors to the tile floor. The bathroom on the first floor is half black and white so black paint was out of the question. I do not like the goldish yellow nor the pink. Who ever put this color combination together must be a genious.

The original tile floor to this old house still in excellent condition. They sure don't make things like they used to.

How does this go with the floor??????????????????????

New medicine chest which was fit into the wall just perfectly. No one can tell the demolitions that took place to get the ****** in the wall.

Ty is so happy to get this project done and me off his back. He told me after hooking up the faucets tonight he is having a beer which is very unlike him on a work night. I never knew I married such talent and consider myself a lucky gal. His only request was that i make him a big pan of brownies. Now that was easy!

That's not bad - my new place has ceramics in that hot color for 1963 - aquamarine.

No shit. Aquamarine.

You could almost do crossword puzzles on your floor.

or Tetris. that's what it is, the Tetris floor! (the game) The person who designed that floor pattern must have been way ahead of their time.... ;-)

Is "a big pan of brownies" code for "big glass window". ;-)
