I wish for...

Sunshine and warmer weather
so I can ride these trails. Yesterday I did my own ride
and I stopped along the way to take a peak at the trails.
I hope the trails dry up soon. I am getting bored with
riding on pavement.

Where is Spring?

Yesterday I anticipated a nice fun ride on the trails but unfortunately the Tosa trails were muddy and in no condition for riding. It was fun to ride them for awhile but a bit too messy so we called it quits. So E, Captain and I did the wonderful New Berlin Rec Trail. I was anxious to step up the pace and headed off myself West into the wind while E and Captain lolly gagged behind. It was a bit nippy but I kept up a good steady pace and that kept me pretty warm. I stopped to take this nice picture. I can't wait for warmer weather this winter has been way too long.

Clean Eating

I started to get really serious about the foods I ingest lately. I have the basic knowledge of nutrition and I know that it is important to read the food labels and so forth. I have reviewed several nutrition cookbooks and I am bent on eating more organic foods within reason. Poultry, wild game and beef can get really expensive, so it is good to know a farmer who produces a clean product. I have heard many health conscious persons discuss there take on what they think is best and what is a waste of your time or money. Sure eating organic foods or for that fact, trying to eat clean is an expensive endeavor, and this should not be so. I am not going to discuss here, why our nation is so obese and sedentary, rather I would like to introduce a positive outlook towards taking care of your body and really demonstrate how fun and easy it is once you establish yourself with some key ingredients in your cabinets. Once you have the ingredients stocked in your kitchen it is much easier to prepare good, clean healthy food. Most likely the kind of food your grandmother used to make, using ingredients form scratch and not in the form of anything pre-packaged.

I made this Super drink tonight in the blender and it sure beats drinking Endorox. Try this drink sometime and let me know what you think. I got this recipe from Chris Carmichael's Fitness Cookbook.

We have finally been led out of the darkness
to enjoy the everlasting effects sunshine

We met on 59th street and

Headed West

to Pewaukee Lake

we could of kept going but
there are plenty of days ahead.
Sure was great to get out this
weekend and enjoy the fresh air
and warm temps. I think we all had a great time,
Greg, E, Captain and myself. By the way...the temps
hit 51 degrees downtown by the lake front Greg!

Intoxication

Last night we all got together for Jo's Birthday at
Ricardo's Pizzeria in the 3rd Ward. I captured Jo making
a wish and thanking the wine fairy for descending on her party.

I had the waitress ( who was super fantastic in serving up the vino, my glass was never empty) take this pic before we, all got smashed.

Thankfully for that! I think we all look quite smashing.

Unfortunately, this is how I feel today. I finally got
out of bed at 4:00PM after praying to the porcelain goddess a
few times today. I Missed my ride with Captain, who happens
to be riding out to Pewaukee lake as I write this post. I seem to
enjoy Birthday Party's a bit too much. I think I need to jump on
wagon for awhile and detox. Then maybe I'll loose some of this fat
tire I put on in the last few months.
